Fabric Painting Class Description and Supply List

With some simple supplies you can make your own original fabric plus I will give you some ideas of what to make with that fabric. Don’t worry if you think you cannot draw, that is not my strong point either but I have lots of tricks to help you get started.

Supply List: Wear an old shirt or bring an apron. It is usually not a messy process but just in case! FABRIC – muslin, broadcloth or cotton fabric cut into a size slightly larger than something you might want to make. For example if you want to make a 16″ pillow I would cut an 18″ square. If you just want to play, bring a variety of squares and rectangles. Unless the fabric has a lot of sizing I do not prewash but you certainly can if you like. You can also bring some canvas or linen fabric for a different textured look. PAINT – You can certainly bring your own fabric or hobby/craft paint but I will have plenty for you to try. BRUSHES – Inexpensive artists BRUSHES in various sizes work just fine plus I will have some on hand. Other supplies – spray bottle of water, a couple of rags, a black (med point) Sharpie and a large Ziploc bag to bring your dirty rags/brushes home.
