Insanity III

This is my third insanity quilt meaning repeating the same thing over and over. All of these 2 1/2” squares finish at 2” and every single one of them is cut from a feedsack. I am blessed to have quite a collection and decided I needed to start using them.

There are 1,050 squares in this quilt.

The photo on the left shows a close up but you really have to feel these feedsacks with your hands to appreciate them. Each one has a history that we can only guess. I backed the quilt in a 1930’s reproduction fabric and used muslin and feedsacks for the binding.

  1. I love it Susie. I miss u and your classes. I’m making tops for our church. We call them utility quilts. Have made 3 this month. Weather is not cooperating. Snow and -50 ,below tonight so will be staying home for the next few days, but I can always sew.
Been taking classes at my quilt shop. Cork wallet, table runner, cork table mat, clothesline bowls and pillowcases for the g. Grandchildren for Christmas.
Hope u remember me. Phyllis from Wis. Made the quilt as you go quilt with my mom’s hearts. Gave it to my son and he loves it. Cannot come to Texas anymore, my husbands health is not good, but enjoyed 13 years in Rockport.
Love seeing what u are doing. Still have all my handkerchiefs and haven’t done anything with them. Hugs and Love Phyllis Fryman Tomahawk, Wisconsin
