All Over The Place

Spread the love

Well this is what happens when I start pulling things out that I need to finish. Although I do start lots of projects I am not one to let them sit around for years and eventually I finish them, change them to something else or give them away. Once in a while I like to have a “clean slate”.

I had twenty of the hexi flower blocks cut and fused. At first I was going to make a throw sized quilt and use for a quilt as you go demo. But I changed my mind (see what I mean?) and decided to make two baby quilts. The top on the left is done and ready to quilt. The blocks on the right need to be satin stitched and pieced. I think they will make great baby quilts. I left the pink blocks on one of my machines so it will be in my way until I finish it!

This is one I put away in frustration. The four patches are tiny (1 1/2″ squares) as is the black sashing (also 1 1/2″) which is where the frustration comes in. However, I do like it and I am over half way done (before borders) so I think I will try and do a row each time I am in the studio. You cannot see from the pic but the neutral is white with tiny black polka dots. I still like it so I will persevere.

Then I had this quilt loaded. When I make things from old linens I have small pieces that I just hate to throw away so I used them in my making fabric method and I think this will be a pretty quilt when I am finished. I do love using up all of the old things. All of these pieces were too small for my cards.

I have an unexpected sew day tomorrow. Yippee maybe I can make some progress on these projects (or start something else) or More than likely both.

Susie your baby quilt is sweet. Admire your discipline to finish projects. I’m easy distracted unless I have a firm deadline.

    • Thank you Linda. I am easily distracted too just too many projects and never enough seeing time.
