This is my version of Jen Kingwells Long Time Gone. Those of you that know me know that I don’t like to follow directions very well but I really, really fell in love with this quilt and just had to make it. I started piecing in January and have had some very intense sessions making those tiny, tiny blocks. It is far from perfect but overall I am very pleased with it. I probably will add a border of some kind but I just want to take a break and enjoy looking at it before I go to the next phase.
Here is a closer look:
And this weekend I played with some stamping and embossing on paper:
Now they are ready for watercolor and sayings.
And I dyed all this delicious fabric. Ready to play with if I can keep from just petting and looking at it.
Time to take a break to celebrate 4th of July week with family. I won’t be totally out of the studio as my sisters in law want to make zipper bags. Works for me!
I absolutely love your style!
