Potholders Galore!

Spread the love

Sometimesyou just want to make little things. I like to have small items for quick gifts and potholders fill the bill. Everyone needs them and I use some of my favorite scraps. I use a layer of flannel and a layer of insulbrite in mine. The ones on the left are simple string strips, the ones on the right have a two patch and a few strips underneath. You can make yours pretty much any size but most of mine are about 9” square. If I make them much bigger I call them trivets.

These hex pot holders are from a pattern by Malka Dubrawsky of A Stitch In Dye. I followed the pattern except I used purchased bias tape instead of making binding like you would for a quilt.

These are actually trivets made from linen and cotton fabric for the Love detail. This is a free pattern called “Love Is All Around” by Anorina Morris of sameliasmum.com. I will be keeping these for me!

And last but not least these are “Tweet Treat Pot Holders” from Allpeoplequilt.com. I did not make the “double potholder” as I don’t like to use those. I also faced and turned the edges instead of using bias tape. I think they are so cute!

Since it is time for New Years projects which means decluttering and  organizing, I am pleased that I started with my potholder saved ideas. I will be making all of these again.

  1. I LOVE these! All are sooooooo cute!

    • Thank you. It will have to be somebody really special to get any of these as I used scraps of my favorite fabricsand I like them too.

  2. Hi Susie! Love these Pot Holders! Always enjoy your projects! Happy New Year!

  3. Susie-just looking at these new projects make me feel happy. I’m starting to sort my scraps into groups to follow your creative lead! Beautiful!
