Ticker Tape, Simple Shapes and Easy Applique Class Description and Supply List

Spread the love

In this class we will expand on the basic ticker tape by changing up the shapes, the edge finish and the layout and we will have fun with the circle shape and some of its possibilities. There is no hand turned applique here – just easy basic machine APPLIQUE. We will explore the simple basic edge stitched applique , layered applique and reverse applique. And since ticker tape sewing is quilt as you go there is a tutorial on putting those blocks together to form your finished quilt. This is a three hour class.

Supply List: Basic cutting and sewing supplies and sewing machine; circle cutter or round template, marker and scissors; fusible webbing of choice if you want to applique; decorative thread if you want to embellish your applique. For ticker tape you will need background FABRIC plus backing and batting as this is a quilt as you go project. You can bring 10″ or 12″ squares precut with batting and backing as this makes great block sizes for ticker tape or for applique. Your ticker tape shapes and appliqués can all come from scraps so bring some of those too.
